Ian Alexander, MD of Otolaryngology, is one of the top sinus surgeons in the country and a leading authority on sinus dilation. This minimally invasive treatment option can be performed in the office, if insurance allows. Sinus dilation reshapes the anatomy to open sinus pathways so they can drain properly. The procedure uses a tool placed in key places in the nose and sinus, which are then dilated to expand the sinus pathways. It may be an effective, lasting option for patients who have suffered for years with chronic sinus pain and infection.
Dr. Alexander completed his undergraduate work at Brigham Young University, after which he attended medical school at the University of New Mexico. He did his residency at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA.
Dr. Alexander founded the National Sinus Institute in New Mexico in 2009, which has grown to include eight clinics in New Mexico (Albuquerque, Española, Hobbs, Los Alamos, Rio Rancho, Roswell, Taos, and Las Cruces, NM) and our first of many Texas clinics in Boerne, TX, comprised of six ENT surgeons and mid-level providers (Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners).
